Being a busy Mum generally means I don’t have a lot of time for fashion and style as I used too. Having said that, I do like to look somewhat presentable, especially if I am heading out for the day rather than staying at home to do the chores! As we are on a single income I don’t shop in the same stores as when I was working – also I find the stores I did shop in, such as Cue etc, don’t carry clothes that are appropriate for a stay at home Mum. So with a bit of hunting, I have found you can put a lovely outfit together that doesn’t have to break the bank. I normally have one more expensive item that I have teamed with inexpensive items to create the look.
From now on I will be posting ‘My outfit today’ and will link items (or ones as close to mine) so if you like the look you can achieve it too.
Today I wanted to look casual, but was sick of constantly wearing my jeans…so a couple of months ago whilst walking past Dotti (I will be honest a place I don’t normally shop in) I saw these olive pants (I also have them in blue). They wear really well and are so comfortable, not stiff at all. They wash well and don’t need to be ironed if you don’t have the time. I have teamed this look with one of my favourite tops this winter from Witchery, with a singlet for extra warmth underneath. To glam the look up a bit I have added my Najo Square Edge hoop earrings and bangle necklace. My boots are cheap as chips from Kmart but are so comfortable, I have had them on for a full day and not been in any pain. For makeup I have just gone for a really natural look to complement the colours in the clothes. I will do a post about this look soon.
